Today, with our heads about to explode from taking so many tests, our teacher decided to show mercy on us and fill the rest of the class time with a fun activity, in the form of learning a children's song.
Translation:
Three bears in one house
Papa bear, mama bear, baby bear
Papa bear is fat
Mama bear is skinny
Baby bear is very cute
Growing up straight*
*In the version of the song we learned. It's a little different from the one in the video.
Of course, I expect you all to practice this at home so we can have a sing-along when I get back~
Sounds as if life is certainly interesting in your corner of the world. Glad to hear you are even having fun as you teach and learn. Keep your perspective and sense of humor. This year will be over before you know it!
ReplyDeleteWe're glad to know of your mission work...here at the Presbyterian Church in Barre, VT. Please know that you're in our thoughts...your musings remind me of my own time doing work overseas (though not so far over...in Central America).

I got that song stuck in my head. Catchy little tune. I don't think I'll be practicing though since I don't understand the words. You know...can't teach old dogs....

Hi Becky,
ReplyDeleteWe're enjoying following your blog. Photos are great but your descriptions are delightful. The challenges of learning Korean may be pressing but in no time at all you'll be so conversant.
Enjoy the children, I'm sure they're enjoying you being there!
Cheers, Uncle Denny and Aunt Kathy
I'm amused to see that Mama Bear wears an apron! Do Korean women wear aprons a lot?
ReplyDeleteIt's a "gommy bear" song!
